ED HERMAN v KHADIS IBRAGIMOV – UFC Moscow Tips

Ed Herman to win at 2.3 with Bet365 – 4 units

  • Herman may be 39 but he’s by far the better MMA fighter and has a ton of experience in the organization
  • Ibragimov is 0-1 in the UFC and is being overvalued like most Russian fighters on this card
  • In his only other UFC fight, he stood in the middle of the Octagon and just brawled with Jung Da Un, in my opinion, this will be a terrible strategy against someone Herman
  • Herman has fought twice in the last year, once against Villante (A fight I thought he won) and then his last fight against Patrick Cummins which he won via KO
  • I rate both of those guys higher than Ibragimov and that’s saying a lot
  • Despite Hermans age (39) he is very tough to put away and has very respectable cardio for this age
  • Khadis has also taken the fight on short notice which will only play to Hermans advantage

ALEXANDER VOLKOV v GREG HARDY – UFC Moscow Tips

Hardy to win via KO/TKO @ 5.1 with Marathonbet – 2.5 units (minimum odds 4.00)

  • Hardy is improving fight to fight, had it not been for an illegal knee and the no-contest last time out (he illegally used an inhaler) the former NFL defensive end would be 5-0 in the UFC
  • Volkov has shown us previously (vs Lewis) that his durability is questionable
  • Hardy has been a lot more active than Volkov with 4 fights in the UFC since Volkov last made the walk

CALVIN KATTAR v ZABIT MAGOMEDSHARIPOV – UFC Moscow Tips

Calvin Kattar to win at 3.68 with Marathonbet – 4 units

  • Ok so I’ll start by saying that Zabit should probably be a slight favorite for this match-up especially since it’s in Russia but there’s a pretty big disparity in the level of competition these two have faced
  • Kattar has faced a murderer’s row in comparison to Zabit. Since coming to the UFC Kattar has fought Fili, Burgos, Moicano, Fishgold, and Lamas while Zabit has fought only one high-level opponent (Stephens)
  • In that fight with Stephens, we seen similar price action with the Russian going off around the 1.3 range. For those of you that watched the fight, it was clear that line was too wide
  • Another concerning point for Zabit backers was his lack of cardio in the 3rd round vs Stephens
  • This match up with Kattar, in my opinion, is even tougher for Zabit than the Stephens one, Kattar has sharper hands and an adequate wrestling background

ABREU v GAMZATOV – UFC Moscow Tips

Klidson Abreu wins via Submission at 6.00 with Betfair/PaddyPower – 1 unit

  • Abreu has no issues with this fight being in Russia, The Brazilian has fought plenty of times on Russian soil and is even nicknamed the “Russian Terror” because of the level of success he’s had against Russians
  • Klidson is a former Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu champion so we should expect him to have a huge advantage on the mat if he takes it there.
  • 5 of Klidson’s last 7 pro fights have ended with him submitting his opponent. All have been either RNC’s or Armbars
  • As for Gamzatov, he’s a worthy favorite here but this is his debut in the UFC and is facing a step up in quality.
